Well I just got done putting the old girl back to R12 and it hit 38 degrees, I haven't seen 38 degrees since before I converted to R134a in 97.
I did notice that the evaporator was mostly covered with debri probably was a cause of the R134a not cooling effectively.
So if you don't have the ability to keep it R12, make sure you clean the evap completely.
Everything was completely removed and flush, new O-rings and a new R12 drier.
