Get an oil filter socket. Or, make sure your hand is completely free of oil or any grease and same for the filter, grab it tight and use all your might to turn it. Always works for me.

Take the air box off the back of the intake manifold, and you can get at it no problem.

pretty much all Honda 4 cyl oil filter are in the same basic location. None of them are super easy to get to unless you have some things removed up top.
If you ever turned it the wrong way when attempting to remove it, whoahh
it will be even more difficult to unscrew.

    Re: damn oil filter!

It's best to get an oil filter wrench from Kragen or somesuch. Lie on the ground alongside the front driver's side wheel with your head pointing toward the back of the car. Reach up under the manifold and give it heck. That should do it.

You can also remove the wheel if need be. Just don't jerk the car down on top of yourself. All of this will be a lot more difficult if you've deformed the oil filter housing. Which you probably have. Ugh.

    Re: damn oil filter!

I drive mine up on ramps to change the oil. You can get a band wrench in from underneath, but the cap socket will get it loose. The only problem is buying the right one. If you go to a store that has the same filter as the one on your car you can match the right cap wrench there. I have seen wrenches that have a wound spring steel band and a hole for a 3/8" drive ratchet. I haven't used one of those, but it looks like it would work as well.

This one looks god, too. Not the cheapest, but Craftsman stuff is generally pretty good and it wouldn't be a problem to return it if it didn't work.

    Re: damn oil filter!

puncturing the filter works 100% of the time.

Just get a long screwdriver, impale it all the way through and turn the filter.

yeah i was curious on that too
Did you rip the whole end of the filter off by turning it or something?
I'll bet you only put it on hand tight this time

Use a 3" sheet of sand paper sand side towards the filter for x tra grip with your hand or the loop wrench.

Large channel lock pliers. You'll need to get at the base of the filter closest to the engine if you ripped the filter apart.

They make specific channel lock oil filter pliers.
