is that a repaired reconditioned turbo? the picture looks like a vane or two was worked.
what exactly will be the benefit of the different flow characteristics of this turbo when used on this motor? that is a real question not being sacastic.

it a used turbo but in good condition the different is the T04B should have less lag time then the T04E and spool's sooner to. The T04e starts to spool at 3300rpm and full boost at 3500rpm the T04B should start to spool 2700rpm and full boost by 3000rpm + the T04B flows more cfm's then the T04E so you can get more out with less boost.

Update i got the T04b Today it is a V-Trim Compressor .60 A/R with a .63 Hot Side and a stage II Turbine wheel. It should get the job done

    Re: New Turbo

Okay, so the to4b is just inside the 70% efficiency island at the pressure ratio and flow rate shown by that giant red cross, and the to4e is almost at the 78% for the same thing. Yet the to4b is better? So what is the deal, are you going to run the turbo in a different part of the graph, or what?

Fixed the Compressor maps when i did the maps i forgot to put the Volumetric Efficiency at 90%.
here is where i got the maps from.

    Re: New Turbo

Uhhh..okay, after you changed the intersect point on the graphs, the to4e Still looks better, almost 78% adiabatic efficiency, whereas the to4b is at about 74?

It's more of a trade off i have less lag with the T04B V-trim then with the T04E 50 trim but now i am giving up 4-5% efficiency to get what i want less lag. So it good one way but bad another.

    Re: New Turbo

did you cut the chrysler flange ff the ludespeed and weld on a standard T3 flange or are you using adapters for all this? Hows that manifold holding up for you so far? Do you have detailed pics of your installation thus far. One of these days I need to start installing my parts.

    Re: New Turbo

That was my old manifold and it was a standard T3 flange i had Tom Coleman build it for me when he was still in business. I had a Garrett T3 Super 60 on it so it should accomodate most T3 setups.

    Re: New Turbo

do you have a picture of the angle the flange is welded on. My flange is slightly cocked from left to right and is obviously angled upwards if looking from the front. My large turbo needs to have an extrenal wastgate added to the manifold and was debating puting it on the inside lower portion of the manifold inbetween all the welds. Im not sure if that makes sence or not.
