help I'm not sure what 2 do

Ok so I have in my car 12'' sub and the 2 speakers in my doors hooked up 2 my 360w amp. Now my friend wants to trade me his 1600w sony amp for my 360w but his amp he tells me can only be used on 4ch he said that u can't change it so I was just wondering like how it would hook up if I just hook it up the same and not plug nothin into the 4ch. Cause on the amp I got now i just have it set on 3ch
