id recommend getting a felpro top end gasket set and going ahead and replacing all the top end gaskets (use fel pro or honda if you don't want to do it again) i'd also recommend replacing the timing belt and water pump since you will need to remove the belt anyway
and you remove the head with the intake attached

also clean off any carbon build up thats on the pistons and valves

I don't have the fuel injected model, but might want to change the timing belt & valve cover gaskets too.

edit- here is the bottom of a carb model if it helps. The hardest bolts to get at are under the intake if you don't pull the intake & exhaust manifold off with the head.

It depends. If you have a 10mm flex head ratchet, you might be able to get enough of your arm under it to reach it. The other option is to get a long (18" or so) extension with a swivel on the end, with a 10 mm deep socket on it. You'll have to get under the car to find a spot to get to the nuts, but it's possible.

Those bottom bolts are a mother. I removed mine when I had the engine out and they were a pain. I just used anything that would work. One time it was a box end wrench. The next is was a 10" ratchet extension with a swivel head. The next it was a 1/4" ratchet. I can't imagine doing it with the engine in the car. Good luck on that.

that picture ddude put up is a good reference. There are two steel braces under there too you have to take off.
To access the lower nuts, loosen the alternator-take the belt off then take out the adjuster bolt so you can swing the alternator all the way towards the drivers firewall. Then you can also take off the pvc tube going into the oil separator box. Those two things can provide a lot more access.
I spent a couple of hours one day just getting to one nut, so I know your pain.
If you are doing the head, then just take out the steel braces under there and all attached hoses and wires you should be good to go with the whole thing intact.
