Research on size & dimensions on wheels...

Well, I was thinking, as I know that the most best setup on wheels is 17" 205/55. if you think to have big wheels, but I was thinking of, why do we cant have like 18" wheels? I know that they might rub under the control art on the back, but if you place a 25mm spacer there, that way you'll move the wheel out so it gain a bit more clearance between control arm and tire..

But then the car needs to be widened on wheel arches.
Anyhow that was just research thinking..

Its prttey fnuny how you can raed tihs eintre snetnece with all tehse ellters out of palce...

    People run 17" with 205/40, not 205/55. 205/55 works for a 15" wheel, not a 17" (on an accord).

You can run bigger wheels, but then you need a lower profile tire.

Most rubbing issues can be easily addressed with a fender roller

how much larger is the tire for a 205/55/15R compared to the stock 185/70/13R. I.e. tire circumference. Looking to keep the tire size as close to stock as possible while using a larger rim and less sidewall height. Any suggestions, comments?

    quick tire math lesson:
tires are measured in millimeters. they go tread/sidewall/wheel diameter. the sidewall is a percentage of the tread. there is approximately 25 millimeters in one inch. that being said...
205/55/R15: 205 millimeters is roughly 8 inches. that is your tread width. 55% is going to be around 4.2 inches. double this number and it to the wheel diameter (already in inches), and you have your tire height. so in this case you have an 8" wide tire that is about 23.5" tall. the 185/70/R13 would be 7.25" wide and 23.5" tall. your tire circumference would be virtually identical, the profile being the only major difference.
18's are pushing it. you would need something ridiculous like a 225/20/R18 to keep the same circumference.
