Typically, the bouncing idle is caused by a big vacuum leak. Alternatively, the IACV could not be getting proper coolant flow. Check the coolant level and bleed the system properly to correct. Finally, check your idle adjustment screw to see that it's adjusted properly.

Ditto on checking the coolant level, and make sure the system is bled. If it isn't, air bubbles will cause the idle stabilizer valve to incorrectly react to the perceived coolant temperature.

thanks i'll check that, can't do much more to it.it's getting to cold out to work on it.I'll probablly put the motor out of my exi since it's got a 110,000 less km on it and it's 5-speed so easier to do swap.

One thing with my car is it will not idle after the battery has been unhooked unless I drive it about 25 miles or so. Dunno why never figured it out. It fast idles cold etc but once its at operating temp it ownt idle at all or like at 200 rpm. Its a long shot but I would give it a chance.
