the tires on the electric motorcycle are from 72,and they don't even show cracks, even have air in them yet.

yeah i'm gonna trade them with the bf goodriches in the front one day when i'm not feeling lazy. i would've gotten all four except i got the goodriches in january so they're nowhere near needing to be changed yet.

and yeah, that's what the tire guy was saying. he said the tread is still pretty good, i'd say at least another 30k out of them if it weren't for this little mishap. they're on the rear, which is why i think they've lasted this long in the first place.

my car does that shit, and i would love to know why. it only happens in the back, and there isnt evidence of misalignment. just some tread separation. need to figure it out before i drop some money into a wheel and tire setup.

    Re: time for new tires?

well i'm guessing that since my tires are eleven years old and the car sat idle for awhile, these were starting to dry rot. and i would think that rear tires don't even approach the wear rates of the front so they just don't get changed as often either.

    Re: time for new tires?

Yep, that'll do it. I'm amazed that the tires made it that long. I'm going to be replacing some tires that are, if I remember right, only 4 years old due to dry rot soon.

    Re: time for new tires?

yeah me too. and it's a good thing they didn't fail two days earlier when i had a car full of people. actually, i think that's what did it, all those ppl in the car put extra weight on the tire and finally finished it.
