Exclamation 89 Accord Turned off randomly while driving

Yesterday when I was driving my car, it decided to just "Turn off". It was very strange and has me concerned now.

I was driving along and the motor just quit, the tach dropped to zero (the motor was still spinning because I had not pushed in the clutch yet) and the clock on the dash went out. However, my radio and radar dector stayed on the whole time.

I pulled over, turned the key off and then back on and everything magically came back to life. It’s been fine since

If I had to describe the situation to make it easy to understand; It was like the key was turned to the accessory position while I was driving.

What could cause this? I am concerned because it could cause an accident if it happens unexpectedly again.

My car is a 4-door DX 5-Speed carb.
