Re: I painted my accord... with a roller!!

here's the third coat. I got really inpatient, more like desperate to just see what it would look like with all the tape off. So it only has three coats and it will stay like that. I am going to do some wetsanding of the whole car today and buff the crap out of everything.

    onto the pics..

I fucked up with masking off the trunk area but oh well, with about less then $10 that I spent to do this, it was well worth the fuking time it took me

btw, what do you guys think about lightly tinting the tails?? or completely blacked out? or red/clears??

get you a roll of pinstripe tape and put it where the black meets the white and it will smooth out the transition for you. ive always thought a small neutral stripe between contrasting colors looks bad ass and helps add to the color change anyhow.

silver is too in between of a color. you wouldn't even hardly notice it. get a color that will stand out AND compliment the other colors. like the blue from the tape. go look at the pics before the tape was pulled off. if it was just a thin stripe it would both set apart the colors as well as compliment them. a gold or darker yellow would look good also.

Re: I painted my accord... with a roller!!

hmm.... ...interested to see the finished product. As for the tails, I have to lean toward getting yourself a can of candy-apple red, and redding out the entire lens. Then, get a 1/4" thick deep red pinstripe and stripe the transition to hide everything and create the break that a few have already mentioned.

Other then that, the only criticism I could give is where you made your line. I see how you picked the topline of the trunk, and hood, but I (for me personally) think it looks kinda funky on the sides being that it doesn't follow any side-lines, and is just a lil high of the window line. I personally would have picked either the window or body line as the break. Have you considered going with black on the side moldings, and the bumper moldings?

Edit: Not trying to be a prick, (and this one can stay because it's more about the paint then the car), but let's try and keep the Appearance/Pics sections to 3G's, and let the rest hang out in O/T.

sorry, i always forget to put all my crap in the OT section.. you can move it, i dont mind...

about the break, thats actually a body line that i followed. i really didnt like that much when i finished it, but it was only $10 and three days worth of work

will post more pics once i buff everything

edit: we should really get a "other cars/autos" section for crap things like this... just a thought.....
