Well it was a battle but I'm keeping the Honda. We decided to sell the Explorer. Few reasons being,...Honda only has like 200,600 miles on it and no resale value. Explorer has 160,000 miles on it with much better resale value. Also which do you think will last longer? And after the wife got a new car back in July,...I got the car bug and wanted to get a truck that I can take fully off road. Oh yeah,..the explorer doesn't have 4 wheel drive, it was more of a credit investment so it did its job. I do wonder though if any of you get as much flack to sell your honda as I do. Friends family you wouldn't beleive how often I hear, "why don't you just sell the Honda?"

Oh yeah did I mention SMOG EXEMPT!!!

Not right away, maybe in the long run. I'm thinking the first things to do will be take care of any rust that it may have. They are natorious haveing rust. There are only a couple spot that are cancerous. If it needs new exhuast i'll being doing that sooner than later too. Its just another toy to wrench on. Maybe its me but I have always wanted like one of each type of vehicle. SUV, sport car, economy, etc. This is the poor mans way of going about it.

Whats funny is that half my family do have Hondas. Sis has a 94, mom has a 95 and brother-in-law has I think a 98 or 99. Since mine is so much older I guess they feel she's on her last leg. Yet I watch them take theirs into the shop for various things needing to be fixed while I'm out turning 200,000 miles with the biggest repair job being a cv joint! Go figure.

the rear axle ratio is the same as the front... if they werent the same ur wheels would be spinning at different speeds and there fore ruining stuff. some one asked about the rear axle ratio and theres ur answer.

for off roading in soft stuff like mud and sand, more for sand, you actually want the front wheels to turn slightly faster than the rears. not much, just the slightest bit faster. i do not remember the exact reason, but before i had any car i read whatever automotive publication i had (i still do). i read that in a 4Wheel mag or Off-Road or something.
