    88-89 on an 86?

Ok so i just bought an 86 LX because my 88 got written off, and i was wondering if i can use a front bumper off of an 88 or 89 on the 86 i just bought? also i was wondering if i can use an 88-89 gauge cluster in the 86 too. Thanks for any help.

yea, u should keep the turn signals from the bumper u instal. if u didnt know 86-87 are smaller than the 88-89. luckly when i wanted to get the turn signals i measured first. and that bumper should fit. its just a slightly different style. i believe u can use the gauges from a different year. the only thing u will need to worry about is the DX and LX are the same as each other but the LX-I and SE-I are the same as each other. the LX-I and SE-I have the fuel injection gauges and some other stuff wouldnt work with the LX and DX. so what does written off mean anyways? hope this helps

ok thanks for the info man. Oh and written off mean that the insurance company wants to save money and the damage to my car is more than the book value of the car so they "write it off" and just give me money to buy a new one. The car gets auctined off and the junkyard may buy it, I might keep it as a parts car tho, i get the option to buy it back first before it gets auctioned off. Sorry if im all over the place but this is the first time ive dealt with this.

i have 86 and i am about to do the 88 bumper swap.
the bumper lights are not the same so you will need the lights from 88-89 bumper.

actualy the 86-87 lights are slighly shorter than the 88-89 lights in the bumper.

Ok so i went to the junkyard today and got a bumper off of an 89 accord and i put it on my 86 and like u guys said it DID fit properly. As for the gauge cluster i got one of em too and it did work as well but it has to be from the carbed model (if u have carb) or the ijnected one if u have injected. So just to clear that up if u guys had any doubts.
