    Re: b20 transmission

Why don't you just fix the broken one!! Unless it has holes in the casing or has had the teeth all weld themselves together it will be perfectly serviceable!!
If you just can't get it into gear e.g. no 2nd or 3rd 4th or 5th gear then it's most likely the syncros which are pretty cheap, no offense but if you just get another 2nd hand box you don't know if it works or not or if it's just as worn out or nearly worn out?? If you have yours fixed at least you know whats gone into it e.g. new seals and gaskets do it doesn't piss out oil when your on the move, new syncros so you know it's going to change smoothly, new bearings so you know it's not going to drop the diff out the casing when you get it in!!.

    that is good advice
From what I have noticed, everyone who ever tore into one came out saying it was nothing to it. A learning experience never hurt anyone esp if it saves you $$

one of these days we need to have a garage meet with some georgia members and tear into a 5 speed. I wish I could get my hands on the one CAH destroyed, just to see how much damage he did to it.

    Re: b20 transmission

i have already re-built it once this time the speedometer sending unit sproket inside the transmisson broke and lodged itself against the differential and wore the differential down its just a pain in the ass to rebuil
