Radio only works at position 2.

For about a week, my radio and blower would not turn on while the car was running. A couple times they'd mysteriously start working, then not work again when the car was restarted. Now they don't come on at all, but the radio always works with the key in position 2. Once I start the motor, it will not come back on.

It sounds a lot like this problem, so I may try that first. Is the contact block literally on the ignition switch, such that I'll need to take the switch out? I couldn't find a definitive diagram from Majestic but I read that removing the switch is pretty simple.

you take off the shroud around the switch, the plastic thingys, there will be a couple of screws holding the switch to the back of the key tumbler, unscrew those, and unplug the switch, now reverse the process. the part the key goes in never needs to be touched. leave the key in the off position before you swap the switch.
