Has anyone else noticed that you can get to 60kms before the RPMs go high in 1st gear or is it just my car? I thought i was seeing things at first,like i said my car has been sitting around for a dogs-age so im finally dragging it out of its grave.

I have driven V8 cars that would do that, my DX is done with first at 30 and it would not maintain 30 very long without second gear.
Thats what I expected, i have been doing 60 before shifting to second all day and my engine isn't overheating almost makes me sad im going to be doing an engine swap soon.Originally Posted by roodoo2

What does your tach say? That is what it's for.
60km/hr = 37mi/hr. That's probably about right for redline in 1st gear.

okay good, i was worried for a minuite, everone else was getting 35 and 30 but i forgot y'all live in USA, sorry about that guys.

Yeah sorry about the fuss guys, one of my buddys was amazed i could do this. And i know in my other cars I shift alot lower than 60... oh well.

You can do 100kms in 2nd, tell him that, and over 150kms in 3rd.
