I've searched with not much luck
if you put an intake on an 86 accord (F/I) you pipe the filter off of the manifold (PGMfi)?
but what about the filter and piping behind the manifold?
i've never had any trouble with this shit on any other car.![]()

huge transformation.
must not have searched hard enough... buy almost any civic/del-sol short ram intake off of ebay, cut it to length you want.. take out all that old intake crap. put in the new pipe off the many.. and done simple as that
i actuly got a pretty sick intake atm, i have a pod filter comeing right of the butterfly with a inwards scoop right infrount of it. makes the car rawr louder and also gets a shitload of cold air
i got a sri on the b20a and had a mate make up a nice alloy oil catch can that bolted straight on where the old aircleaner was on the back of the manifold
i got a shiny alloy intake and the car roars really loud through that lol it ends behind the battery
ok, we got a lot of "i got's", but don't have any pictures? Can someone post up a pic of their A20 setup with their intake? I think he's specifically asking about the extra bulk at the back of the intake, and how it's plumbing appears to take air in as well from the stock airbox.
That said, 86 --> If you were to just check out the pics threads, you'll see a whole pile of people with intakes. The only advice I can give you is to take a close look at those pics and see if you can figure it out until someone here gives a clear answer. Sorry, I can't be of any help because I'm carb'd.

if you've got an intake to go on it just take the old filter housing off the back of the (silver thingy pgmi) mani.
"Can someone post up a pic of their A20 setup with their intake?"

Same on the a20 as it is on my b20...
Here is my 4g intake
my pic aint loading i will have to edit later and upload it at home sorry guys (it is nice being at work and doing research for my car)

i shall whore mine too
heres mine with stock piping chopped up
and then extended a little bit with a random metal pipe:
i did have it extended even longer at some point but dont feel like finding pics. Now i just run a stock intake cause i like the look of a standard engine bay![]()
hacked stock piping![]()
huge transformation.
...and there we have it. ...another happy customer courtesy of the 9 million pic whores on 3gz

here is what my intake looks like, i just took one for a 92-95 civic and added a 3'' extension off of the throttle body so it would fit, i routed the the vacuum piping coming off of the filter box and the tubes coming from the black sensor box on the left into the piping (so my car runs just fine, 80's cars are notorious for problems if you just start tearing out vacuum tubes since everything is controlled by vacuum) You can just run a pipe straight into the TB and skip the box and other piping because its just a crappy snake of tubes robbing HP (just throw it out, unless you are like me in CA and need to throw it back on for smog checks ^_^.
all you need to do is unscrew the two bolts on top of the manifold holding the filter box, disconnect the clamp from the box to the rest of the tubing, then unhook the tubing from the throttle body and pull it all out
P.S. that shiny stuff on the piping is fiberglass kevlar tape that shields heat, keeping it a REAL cold air intake.... hope this helps

Jfern --> Now THAT's a reply. Welcome to the board, and thanks for that awesome write-up. What seems very easy for some could be a daunting task for someone who's never done an intake before and has very limited mechanical knowledge. That post should clear it up for anyone. Hell, I could print that out, hand it to my wife (who has no clue about cars/mechanics) and I'm confident she could do the job.

Mine goes WWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!
im got all my vac lines removed Jfern and its not making my car stuble or nothing like that best mod i did ever...only got 3 vac lines for the dizzy, map, ignition module....then you dont have to worry bout vac leaks or shit like that...its a hassel with the vac lines i think...now im no so worryed anymore...
