Since you are in Texas heat, I'd suggest the main fuel relay. It is located above the interior fuse block left kick panel.
Usually when it is hot the solder connections expand and lose connection. You can pull it apart and resolder the connections or just buy another on. usually $50 its plug and play but a bitch to get to.
Another possibility is the rubber button (Deteriorate and breaks apart) on the clutch pedal that disengages the clutch switch.
But since your problems seems to be intermittant I suspect the Main fuel relay.
You need alittle more info for us to assist further.

I agree with the more info, But it sounds like your not getting Spark. Check your plugs and Distibutor.
yeah make sure you are getting constant spark
