Japan's economy is in the shitter; they'd be stupid not to cancel the S2000. What freaks me out is that AMG and BMW M-cars saw increased sales last year. So maybe Honda was onto something the V8, but I doubt people would've bought a muscle/performance Honda anything just like they didn't but the NSX.

You can't just build a nice car, you have to have a name to go with it.

no the s2000 was axed, it was in motorweek. there are a lot of very upset fans. they didn't make that many of them, but you have to understand all car makers need a prestige car, it attracts buyers to the brand and makes them want to buy other cars made by them.
