    Weight Reduction

Anyone got any ideas on how to reduce weight, while still maintaining looks?
Heres what i can think of:

    -remove everything in the trunk
    -remove ac
    -remove PS
    -Small, aluminum wheels
    -plexiglass windows
    -Convertable
-only put just enough gas in the tank
    -lighter/remove hood
-remove stock intake stuff, and replace with bitchin intake
    -Smaller battery

    Ideas?
Performance Modz: Short Ram Air Intake, Custom Exhaust w/o Cat & Resonator, Cherry Bomb Turbo Muffler, Accel Coil, Removed AC

Other Modz: Clear Blinkers, Purple Calipers, Accord Emblem On Dash, Winking Headlights

    remove backseat (while racing)
your e-brake has two cables on it, my friend took one of his off while reducing his car's weight and lost 2 lbs. from that cable.

I think it's LEXAN not plexiglass but you could still use plexiglass, for the back and sides at least.

    anyways:
    - 92 CIVIC HALF SIZED RADIATOR
    - SINGLE FAN AND SHROUD
    - 1 piece front end.
    - Light weight racing seats (non reclineable)

don't get a convertible, well I guess ditching the rear window will lose weight but you'll need to add a roll cage which will add weight.

Hey a20! How does the shifter feel?? I thought about buying one!! I am just so used to the t style shifter!! Also i was thinking of buying like an old camaro or transam auto shifter!! They kinda looked like manual shifter, but had the release button on the top just like urs! do u think that would fit?

yeah the t shifter is practicaly the same as the top shifter. you'll just have to cut off the wheel after removing the handle.

You need both of them for your ebrakes to work right, besides they don't weigh 2 lbs a piece.

On the average for every 100 lbs. you lose you gain 0.1 of a sec. in the 1/4 mile and at the track you only need 0.001 sec. to win so every little bit does count for the fanatics.

There are no baffles in the tank, its better to run with a full one to keep the fuel from sloshing away from the pickup.

The lighter your car the more of a diference weight reduction will make.

will that smaller civic radiator still provide enough cooling for our cars? that sounds like a worthwhile investment. and how much fabrication would that require?

Yeah I'm sure it will work.
not sure on the fabrication I'll have to wait till I can pull one from a wrecked civic.

It should work just fine. Your thermostat might spend more time open and your fan might run a little more, but the system should be albe to keep your engine cool enough.
