that member brought a LOT to this forum, we need her back because she is one of the few that understood the Oem carb set up, for all those questions by new members trying to fix the oem carb. I know a little but I usually say strip it out to nothing or either swap to a weber.

oh, not to get off topic but with all the mods and admins here, i was just wondering, when ur accord of the month, does ur accord of the month badge under ur name go away after a month or do u always have it? just wondering. thanks guys

    Re: To the admins II

poop on me for not finding this thread until now.

I think we've beaten the 'errors on the board' thing to a bloody pulp. I can assure you that if there were a known fix for the errors, they would have been resolved. Does anyone think otherwise?

Yes, they suck. Yes, they're annoying. ...and Yes, as of right now, anything that can be done is being done, and any additional ways of really resolving this are actively being investigated.

...while there are mods that have not been very active lately, I'm not sure how having an inactive mod is hurting anyone in any way. Are they not responding if you PM them? If that's the case, then please report it to another active mod/admin/director. Otherwise, who cares?

I can say from my own personal experience, that up until about 1-1.5 years ago, there were a TON of members her who didn't even know who I was, nor had they ever seen me on the board. ...yet I've been here since way back in the EZ board days ('01 I think). I'm VERY grateful that I was not bumped from Mod status due to my inactivity because although I was MIA for a while, once returning, I feel I've been able to resume my responsibilities fairly well.

In my book, the primary responsibility of a Mod is to maintain his/her designated sections in an orderly manner, and help out anywhere else they can. That means cleaning up shitloads of duplicate posts, that means being the bouncer when needed, AND helping out where he/she can on the issues where they have knowledge.

I'll be the first to raise my hand and say there are a number of members here that are WAY more knowledgeable about aspects of the 3G than I am, and I'm happy to say that. ...but as a member, you're just as capable as answering someone's call for help.

There are a handful of 3Geez staff members here among the THOUSANDS of members. We cannot see everything that goes wrong, and cannot always be the first to be the referee when something breaks out. ...There have been a number of members that have reported posts that have gone awry as well as PM'd me to tip me off about a possible issue (member, thread, etc). All of the rest of the staff get the same thing occasionally, which is an example of why things work so well around here.

Can it be better? Everyone's going to have their own opinion, but I'd be hard pressed to find another forum that has so many contributing members doing some great stuff, and being so willing to offer a helping hand.

What about a 'Suggestion Box' being setup as a place for members to make suggestions?

Since the admin and mod's have there hands full with the day to day biz of this site. Here my idea give ten people temporary mod status to clean up old thread's and remove all the crap.Ten people working three hours a day should be able to have this site cleaned up in a week and that might help with the site errors. What do you guy"s think?

idk i see it as id like to do my part for the forums, why are the mods and admins so against giving up there spot to let some fresh faces do the work its not like were asking anyone to leave just let the new bread of 3geez do the dirty work

ive been here 3 years and running 8k+ posts and to be honest only a handful are really post whoring lol im no were near as bad as cah or messy but for the most part i try and help out every one that comes here if i can even if im wrong it helps me get the right answer lol

we just want to do our part and not just the part of hitting a button and telling someone else

    Re: To the admins II

    Is there something I'm missing?

The errors have little-to-nothing to do with a few random post whores, so 'cleaning up' some threads I highly doubt will have any affect on anything. I'm not even sure we have 10 mods, so adding 10 just to clean up? ...trouble is what you determine a junk post or thread, someone else may not, or visa-versa. Are we not keeping up with our house-keeping obligations?

Seriously though, you guys are making it sound like there's so much garbage out there on these threads. Ghetto, you're talking about feeling slighted because you can only 'hit a button to tell someone else', yet I don't recall seeing any reported posts/threads from you. I'm not trying to call you out, but I'm not sure what you mean by wanting to do more than just hitting a button.

Trust me, I and many other members here, appreciate all that you do contribute to the board, as well as all that others contribute too.

But really are things so bad around here that we need to promote a few more guys just to help keep the peace or delete nuggets from post whores?

well i dont hit the button, for the simple fact that i cant say thanks to the person that did the work i normally go to a mod on aim when i need that doen still then the only one i go to is 2ndgenguy cause when he fixes it he liets me know and i say thanks

and still no one wants to say why they cant give up there spot for a new member
why is it such a big fn deal to let someone new take over

well put Mark, and a great example of not lynching an inactive mod, wholly chimpanzee owner's best freind face ripp dude.

and as for cleaning up old threads, I can see the point but then one man's trash is another man's treasure

I respect the attention and constructive dialogue this thread is getting.

But that said, it is like the V6 swap thread or the turbo carb thread, it is like st andres fault or something.. gets a litte higher on the richter once in a while.

we have some people on here with really good computer and software smarts, why not try to get some of them to put their heads together, and try to figure out the error problem?

for the last time no one is saying they are doing a bad job at all end of story end of that

and it has nothing from me to do with the way the site has been running
my original thread that tommy based this one did not as well
even if it was brought up it wasent the point of the thread

i just want to know whey we cant swap them out

why cant we have fresh faces ones with more time on there hands ones that might be able to bring new ideas to the table that might be able to change shit lol

im starting to sound like a broken record of a presidential debate

when going through the list of memebrs to get the foundation list and mods admins list

there are so many inavtive accounts that are just wasting space making it harder to find active members do we really need those members that havent signed in scence 2004 i dotn think so

but witch one of you would be willing to do the work

none cause if there was it would be done

I'm not sure why it matters.

Deleting a few members won't stop the database errors. And, as evidenced by POS Carb finding his way here, people do come back.

    Re: To the admins II

    Who cares?

so there are some accounts that have been inactive for days/weeks/months/years. That's not a labor intensive change, it's a very quick/easy change. The fact that it hasn't been done doesn't hurt anything.

What "shit" needs to be changed? Why does someone new need to be brought on as a Moderator? Who cares so much about being recognized on this board as a Moderator as opposed to a regular member, foundation member, etc?

There are a pile of members here, some of whom have posted in this very thread, that have been here since the beginning of time, and/or who have done soooo much and have so much to contribute. ...and they are still members, and still contribute, and don't complain that they aren't Mods. Yet, if they see something that they feel could be improved or something needs to be brought to someone's attention, they know the effective ways to get themselves heard. (And trust me, it's not by starting a "Viva la revolution" thread.) Just keep on keeping on. Status-quo.

If no one's doing a bad job, and there's nothing fundamentally wrong with the way the board is currently run/running, then why argue that there needs to be more Mods?

Do you want administration to promote you as a Mod? If someone else is promoted instead, although you'll still have to "just hit that button" will you feel better that there's one more Mod on the team? How will that help? What will that help? Who will that help?

I'm tired of arguing in circles. The majority of the replys to this thread have been "There's nothing wrong with the way things are now."

    ...right, so poll please....

...Does someone reading this thread support the idea of me standing down and passing the torch? If so, please don't hesitate to respond because other Mods/Admins/Directors are watching this thread, and if it's proven that I'm no longer wanted as a Mod, I'm sure they'll do what they feel is right.

Why do you want it so bad? Am i doing such a shitty job that you think I should be removed?

Back in 03 when i first came to 3geez there was all ways a mod to help you no matter what time it was there was like three or four mod's per section. in seven years i only posted 3,223 as you can see there no post whore here i just like to read. I started this thread for two reasons 1 to get more mods add 2 to clean all the worthless thread's going as far back as 2001 there is at least 5-8gb of crap on here. 86AccordLxi take your self out of invisible mode show people your here i am sure that will help 100%.markmdz89hatch your here most of the time and ready to Help so to me your kool so is carotman /2ndGenGuy / bobafett /88turboaccord . so lets add couple new mod's and clean house.
