if you have a manual transmission and you want to see massive flames and a muffler explode here is how (and yes it does work i have done it and do have pics of the charred remains) Transmission in NEUTRAL - Rev motor up (I reved to about 5000 for maybe 10 seconds then went up to 7000 for a second) - Once you reach your highest RPM level, quickley turn the ingnition key off and back on. I guarantee it is worth it i dont care how much your muffler costed. You should videotape it though i wish i would have it was awesome the cops came and everything it sounded like a shotgun went off in the neighborhood

    Question Exhuast Flames????

ok this might sound stupid but on the movie The Fast And The Furious..... when they were lined up to race and there were flames shooting out their exhaust. why was it doin that? was it the NOS? or an after burner or what? and how can i do it to my car.... i think it would look awesome!!!:super:

well its a system that sends pure fuel down your exaust which is then ignited by a single spark plug per exaust outlet. I dont think its possible to do this while the car is moving, because it shuts the fuel flow off and sends it directly down below. It is also illegal to do on the street i think, so just look into all of that.

in that movie it was propane injection that was used...

basically a button that would release propane gas, and a magneto or spark plug or something was hidden in the muffler and would light the gas. its really gay and you probably shoulndt put it on your car...

i have seen heavily modded cars do that a lot because of unburnt fuel when they shift. i have seen it on modded supras and dsms at the track. but its only a quick flash of flames.

then again since you have a carbed accord, you can go to www.autoloc.com and buy a kit to do this. heheh

get a coil, get a spark plug, get an old plug wire... hook the coil up like you would on any car, install the plug in the tip of the muffler, run a switch to turn on the coil...then rev the car to like 3000 and flip the switch... you should put a 40 or so amp relay between the swtick and the coil

Darkside is running a borla muffler on 2.25 inch piping and a gutted cat and his car will shoot flames (for a short period of time). He has a weber and is running rich, but it's kinda sweet to watch from behind.

there are kits available now that let you 'bolt on' this type of system. The best way is to find a nut that fits the spark plug you're going to use, cut a hole in the pipe and tac weld the bold over the hole. I saw the kit installed on a classic on HP TV on TNT a while back. I'm sure you could just do a search and find out who sells the kit and/or instructions on how to do it yourself.

I have a friend who had a civic running NOS and when he raced it would shoot flames just like in the movie.

Its pretty lame to do but I think you should get the idea of how to do it. Just put the spark plug near the end of the exhaust and you ahve it.
