Way shorter. I've done SSK's on Civics like a million times and this is the most dramatic I've ever seen it. I'm just going to cut a hole in the top of the heat shield.

Your short shift kit doesn't look very...short. Compared to a CR-X, what would you say?

By the way, if your headlight wasn't all messed up, I'd have this as my wallpaper.
Working on it... new light & bucket downstairs, fucked up the primer though so it's got to be re-re-painted.

And while it doesn't look short, remember that the part under the car is what makes it a real short shifter. The DC is well over an inch longer than the stock one so it's a very pronounced difference. I've changed them in EGs and EKs and they seem to have shorter throws to begin with, plus their short shifters just kinda knock on the heat shield. Mine polished it.

I know that. But, I've never seen a "short" shift kit with a longer...knobby thingy. The word has escaped my mind.

Eh, it's a little shorter up top as well. If you've ever driven a Civic with a short shifter, you have to physically lean forward to get into first/third/fifth because they're too short. This one is still comfortably within reach. If you can find one I totally recommend it, feels great.

Ordered the new shift knob tonight and:

130k? That's it? My car's about to roll over 270k. I'll have it to 300k by the end of the Spring '10.

By the way, have I told you that I really like your car?

haha, swap the first 2 numbers and you will get my old cars mileage. Nice find on the short shifter btw, I looked everywhere back in the day and could never find one.

    Keep it up

Indeed it is, but to clarify, this isn't the first one I bought. I found several websites that listed them as being available, although when I called 90% said 'Oh, no we don't have that anymore.' and just didn't take the page down.

I found one place that told me over the phone they still had them, so I bought one. I called them every three or four days for three weeks and the short version is they didn't have any. At first they swore up and down there were some in the warehouse and the distributor was having a hard time finding them. I told them they were discontinued years ago, but they were very insistent. Eventually they went so far as to claim that Pilot (company who does DC/AEM's manufacturing now) was making me a brand new one. I got my $130 back.

But they're still out there, just got to keep looking.

TY! And no, actually. I haven't been driving so much as commuting for the last couple months so maybe it'll help when I go throw it around, but as of yet I haven't noticed much difference.

Looking very nice. Great sharp pictures. Rear wheel arch is a bit pity but I have the same problem need to be sorted. I admire the DC header!

I made them. Your car looks a little nicer than mine with the sunroof and healthy quarter panels. Do you know what the paint code on yours is?
