3gee saves the day yet again.

Yep, sure enough the 3gee is there for me again. The radiator in the BMW was leaking pretty bad, 3gee was there no issues. Today I noticed another area on the radiator leaking, which is just an o-ring. So I went to start the 3gee, fired right up after weeks of sitting, drove like nothing happened.

I don't see how people can sell their 3gee's.

I've neglected to do anything to it since August of 08'. Yesterday I cleaned the dashboard, today I will give it a bath.

My 3gee has also bailed me out of a few BMW episodes. Currently, that situation is reversed however. The 3g still runs and would get me to work no questions asked, but it needs some love. I've given the BMW a lot of love in the last few years, so it's finally starting to think that it might run well for me. Persistence and doing your own work is key with the German cars I think.

I don't trust any mechanic to come near any of my cars. 3gee has not seen a mechanic in 7 years, which is how long its been in the family.

Re: 3gee saves the day yet again.

    yes that..
W124 after 88 had a facelift, ABS as standard and Zinc chassis, so they dont rust, and had another facelift in 92 with slicker bonnet, slear corners and cleaner tails. ESP become as an option.
Anyhow, those was the last GOOD mergs, until Chrysler come and roined everything..

    those are nice

These cars definitely are reliable. Once I revived my 3G (was more or less inoperable when I got it), it's never once left me stranded in the nearly 2 years I've had it. In comparison my old B15 Nissan Sentra stranded me at least once, and it had less than a third of the miles my Accord has. I have also come to the rescue of quite a few other vehicles in the Accord.

Re: 3gee saves the day yet again.

This one broke down once, and it was my fault. I noticed the fuel bowl level was to high, so I lowered it and thus disturbed the o-rings. It started to leak but then stopped. On the way to Philly, it flooded the carb to the point of having an inch of fuel ontop of the butterflies.

Next day I just swapped in my rebuilt top hat and its been fine since!

And I already have a baller status car, don't need another German headache.
