    Alternator belt woes!!!!

wtf is up with this belt? or both these belts. it seems like the alt belt is a lil too big. i stretched it as far as i can but nothing, its too big? this isnt my first belt change so i need to know what the deal is. the guy i bought the car off of said it was the alt belt but can you tell me? i took a pic of the belts. the bigger belt says 17455 <---->13av1155. so can i have a decent diagram of the belt layout? my stupid haynes book doesnt give me a decent clue.

motor mount does not have to come off that I know off unless your car is designed differently

im just being dumb im sorry man. originally i thought that since the belt has teeth on it, it must be wrong. i thought it might need a vbelt. well, i called autozone to clearify if the belt is in fact an alt belt. and the douche said it was. i thought it didnt take much time for him to answer me and agree. well im back out there looking and figuring, and my neighbor agreed with me saying its a vbelt. attack of the autozone idiots!!! i hate them so much.....

    Re: Alternator belt woes!!!!

The EK1 has the alternator on the front, and the belt goes around the alternator and winds around back around the water pump. It is a V belt but does have teeth. My alternator belt seems like it's too big too on my EK1, as I put it on and I have to have the alternator adjusted all the way out. I just did mine yesterday...

nm this whole stupid question thing. im sorry about the noob questions, got it done. autozone gave me the wrong belt. i went to check there in person and the guy wasnt that helpful, so i asked another guy about the differences. well the guy seen me asking another and we argued a bit. blah blah. i hate being forced to deal with those chumps. well its done.

Yeah screw AutoZone. It's the closest auto parts store to me, but I quit going in because I went through two alternators and I'm on my third (maybe fourth) broken distributor from them, and they can NEVER order my fucking new distributor and get it in. Garbage!
