    B20B Swap

Well guys I've searching for an engine for my swap... I really want a gsr but it a bit out of my price range... so i was looking into a b20b... I just rememberd its an obd2... so my question is: Is it possible to go from an obd0 to obd2 if so will i be able to pass VA emissions??? also came across a long and short intake manifold... is there a difference, also is there a clearence issue with the long intake???

    Re: B20B Swap

you can run it obd1.. the long one will go straight through your hood and sit up about 8 inches... there are some differences in the models of motor from 99-00, basically they are higher comp and better motors. obd1 and obd2 distributors work the same from what i've read the so it would be some different wiring more than likely but this is the motor that me and lx-incredible are planning on using as well so as soon as we have a definitive answer we will let you know! another thought is that i believe the ls heads are the same so an obd1 distributor from an LS integra will work as well.

    Re: B20B Swap

I call BS on the magical B20VTEC. When you build the shit out of it, it gets near 250hp. But how's that different from any engine? Yeah the displacement is great and helps with any engine build, but don't expect to bolt together a stock B20B bottom end and a stock B16A head and get 250hp instantly.

    Re: B20B Swap

no shit you're not gonna hit 250 without some work. but messy did say right pistons... as in high comp, but you'd need cams too... but yeah it's not a slap together and go.

b20 vtec would be the only swap i would do into an accord, i would also look into stroking the motor aswell for extra torques

    Re: B20B Swap

they do still make them, innovative makes them, and you can actually do what a lot people do now... hasport makes a kit to actuate a master cylinder with the cable, it costs 100... then you just buy the master from honda or wilwood makes one and use that... you can mount it anywhere you'd like and run a hard line to the trans...

my question is the hydro mount... the actual TRANSMISSION mount is different, and if the mounts from innovative are made for the cable trans you would have to modify it to use one... so theres where the problem would be.

and messy, where do you get your information? i live in arizona and have a friend that owns a shop next door to hasport... i also know 2 guys who work for hasport and i've never heard any news of them stopping production... hasport will typically sell you anything they make in pieces too.

this sounds like an interesting swap, why no one mentioned it before,? Those mounts is not a big of a deal to make really, only wiring is a tricky bit.

    Re: B20B Swap

wiring is the easiest part in my opinion, i don't have any of the tools to make or modify mounts...

and tons of people have mentioned this swap, you just need swap mounts which are now going to be made and lx-incredible is getting a set for each of his cars. so we will be picking up a b20b to do this with...

    Re: B20B Swap

Ive been doing my research on this build and its pretty costly ive heard about 4-5k to build it right and reliable around the 250whp mark!!! its definetly not a straight bolt on... from what ive read about guys who done the build its very costly and time comsuming!!! but yes this would be one of the best options since its a 2.0liter and for some reason i wouldnt feel right about having a smaller displacement than what the car orginally came with!!! Heres the FAQ about the b20vtec or lsvtec

Only one will be getting the swap. I always believe in having spares.

But yes, as I mentioned in the other thread, once we get one in, we will be selling A20 engine harnesses modified to work with b series. The same A20A3 obd0 - obd1 ecu jumpers and extension harnesses that I am making will be used with these.
