    Exclamation Fire Fire!

Oh well next time I need to make sure my accel pump diaphragm isn't squirting masses of gasoline out the side and onto the manifold.

good thing is my old modified keihin fits on my new 3g it's a BS engine I think... the damn carb and gaskets are slightly different.
I removed all the emissions crap and I hooked up the 4 needed vacuum lines

    - B Air Jet
    - C Air Jet
    - Power Valve
    - Advance Diaphragm

I've been following the posts you've made about minimizing the junk attached to a stock Keihin. Is what you've posted above the last word- just those four and the car will run well?

    Cheers,

    yup
C Air-jet and B Air-jet are the only troubling parts
A Air-jet can and should be removed.

The back of the air jet controller has a 12mm nut you have to unscrew it all the way.

What I like most is that within the jumble of vacuum hoses you can find just about every vacuum connector you need to hook the vacuum lines up.

Save some of the Vacuum connectors:
    2 - "Y" connectors (3 vacuum ports each)

Get an asortment of vacuum caps:
    8 - 5/32 Vacuum caps
    8 - 7/32 Vacuum caps
    3 - 3/8 Vacuum caps

Save most of the larger/odd shaped vacuum lines from the carb.
    and get:
    6ft - 5/32 Vacuum tubing

It should be #2 vacuum line from the advancing diaphragm.
but then other people say it's the vacuum port furthest from the distributor.

If you hook it to the wrong port it will turn the inside of the distributor about half of full advance.

the power valve port is on the back of the carb

You see where I wrote, HOOK DIRECTLY TO MANIFOLD VACUUM thats the power valve...

The two vacuum ports next to the power valve are "C" and "B" from the air jet controller.
I labled both of them PLUG? cause you can plug them, but when plugged it gave me trouble sometimes.

hmm, try hooking up A and B to eachother and follow the C going to the carb and plug the port filling on the carb. I never messed with it much b/c I always left the air jet controller at full rich (out)

ok the other question, when i take the blackbox, and i unplug it. do i have to put any jumpers in to the plug?
what about EGR valve? what do i have to do about it?
where can i get those vacuum plugs?
oh yeah, mike(a20a1), can you send me pictures where you labeled what needs to be pluged. [email protected]
where is manufold vacuum line? i am no good with vacuum lines, so you will have to excuse me for asking so many question.

oh man, No i can see.
    Sweet.
ok now about the choke. if i pull the two vacuum lines will i lose the choke. I thought it was electric?

when removing the black box, i will have to unplug the wire from it. Do i have to putt anyjumpers in there?

damn that carb looks lonley up there without all the vacuum appendages lol.
One thing I noticed the other day is that my car doesn't seem to use the black box at all, I can unplug the electrical connnectors at the end with no change to idle or performance

There is none... the 32/36 is the same way... the Accel jet only has one passage, and that leads to the primary barrel... on the 38/38 the accel jet splits in 2 and squirts gas into both barrels...
I'll have to rig and electronic secondary fuel squirter...

You could also run a single DCOE and then adapt it to the stock manifold.
    (32/36 68mm)
    (38/38 76mm)
    (40/40 sidedraft 80mm)

you'd have to split the manifold inbetween the middle cylinders.
one side would run 2 cylinders.

That makes me wonder if a 45mm dcoe would be better as a single sidedraft.

have you thought about two Dcoe for our engine.
i have been thinking about it.
may be use two 38 webers. the barrels open at the same time on them right? you can run each barrel to each sylinder.
    how hard would it be?
i know you will have to make sustom maniford but beside that how hard?
