yes gearbox oil smell bad. haha
turns out the so called good box with a fucked diff also had a completely fucked countershaft bearing, So i ended up using the original s4c bellhousing from the crashed orthia, and built a good gear set with parts from both boxes and slammed it all together last night

it seems to work,tosday ill stuck it in the car, if it fucks out againill pull it out and stick back in the dc integra box that has loud bearings, at least its reliableish

box is in the car, drives sweet, no bad noises but the gear stick is a little hard to change, im going to do a big fat skid in it later and if the tyres blow before the gearbox ill be happy with my job
edit: box fucked out, driving down the road at the top of 2nd gear it lost drive. ill just stick the other box in it i thinks

so the clutch is fucked!!, the pressure plate and flywhel seem fine. looks like i have to spend actual money now to get this car working again....

new second hand clutch plate received, will install tonight
funny, the new clutch i got is the same brand as the one that blew up haha
right clutch is in and the old gearbox is back on. i think the reason for that clutch fucking out was the input shaft spline, it had a dent in it from something hitting it (probably when i got it) the clutch plate did not slide on it like it should, i reckon thats what made the clutch fuck out, but all good ill tear the gearbox apart again replace the input shaft and we will be sweet (Y)
right took the civic on a 700km round trip to pick up some shit, including this here engine block i removed from a vehicle at pick a part. costed $100
and a y21 gearbox i got from a mate with a rooted diff that i plan on replacing with a factory type r item
the civic's warrant of fitness and rego runs out tomorrow, so i wont be able to drive it on the road until i fix it up. Ive decided to put it in the shed and modify it and get my grey accord legal and drive that.
time to build a fast civic me thinks

im undecided whether i should build this b20b vtec motor first or rebuild my grey accords b20a motor.
i have all the parts i just need to pay someone to do it, and since the accord is my daily and the b18a/efi in it isnt the most sound engine id like something reliable
right i went totally against what i said i was going to do and bought some more shit for the civic.
i have on the way a b16a2 head and intake, and a LS/VTEC/B20VTEC oil line kit, pics when said parts arrive
why does teh b20vtec have to go in the civic :P

because the B20B block doesnt have the the oil port to supply the vtec solenid with oil pressure you have to supply oil to the head with an oil line, this kit takes oil from a sandwich plate on the oil filter and feeds it to the head (and anything else that needs oil pressure)
