where are you getting your plug wires? i have a set i took off my car, they have low mileage on them, they were from nappa so they are belden, excellent quality wires, i went to an accell custom set now,but if you want them i'll sell them to you cheap. and they fit the ngk plugs fine. are you pushing the connector out far enough to engage the ends of the plugs? i believe you are having some sort of problem, but i've never heard of this before. the ends of the boots are flexible, they should go right over the plug ends,

listen, you can twist the wires from behind the boot until the electrode is out of the boot, snap the electrode over the end of the plug, now get some grease for the boots from the auto parts store, it's a real item, it stops the boot from heat seizing to the plug, put some of this on the end of the plug, now slide the boot back over the plug, it's silicone dielectric grease, the guy at the auto pars store whill know what it is.

i know about dielectric grease, and i know how most wire ends are but these ends are solid. you want proof... lol give me your addy and i'll ship you one when my taylor's get here. i have never seen solid boot ends either, and i'm not a complete mechanic noob. remember, my other car is an escort, my tools are far from rusty.

2.the hayne's for my scort doesn't call for removing the driver side drive axle to replace the alternator...
