    Post Sirius Mounting

Just thought everyone would like to see how I set up my sirius unit in my car.

I have it mounted on the passenger side of the dash pointing toward the drivers seat held down to the dash using velcro.

I have the wires tucked into the edge of the dash up near the windshield, and run down the side of the dash.

From there, i have the cigarette adapter run behind the glove box and the antenna wire follows though the passenger side of the car tucked under the door sills.

From the back door sill, I ran the wire through the back seats and into the trunk, and ran up the trunk strut.

Now, I have one question. The cigarette lighter is always getting power to it, even when the car is off. Is there a way to have the cigarette lighter power shut off when the car is shut off?

just cut the cig connector off there should only be two wires in there go get a in line fuse and just hard wire it to the ignition
    and then ground the ground
so when the car comes on the radio does as well
i did this with the radar detector im my old 88 and it was nice never having to loss a cig outlet

edit oh and as far as the antenna goes just stick it on the dash lol i had mine in the right hand corner and it only lost signal under overpasses but thats gona happen with it anywhere

There is a wire harness running on the trunk lid. Run the wire there it will look 10x cleaner.

Yup... Nothing wrong with that, but sound quality on sat radio kind of sucks these days, having it run through the head unit is much better. I have an alpine XM box with my deck, and its great not having external pieces... XM kind of sucks lately though, if I had to pay for it it'd be gone lol.

Yeah, on crutchfield.com i found a deck that was $100 and it was all setup for satelite radio(not Satelite-ready which means you have to buy an external piece of equipment) and it was also bluetooth equipped and everything which is really good for a $100 deck, im pretty sure the manufacturer is Dual, and i found it by searching for decks with a USB input, lol
