Question Time for some new speakers

Well, the original 20 year old speakers in my car took a crap on my stereo, they all rattle to the point were no audio can be heard, and my front passenger speaker cuts out. What can be causing that? Also what are good, but cheap speakers to put in my car? Preferably under 100 dollars if possible...

Re: Time for some new speakers

My front two stockers just blew this past week, and I got some Kickers. Very good speakers for the money ($70). I have Xplod's in the back, which are way better, though way more expensive...

you still need to run it to some kind of crossover before it goes to a sub amp, use something like a basic passive crossover network, some of them have high level in already

the one i have has a lot better adjustment then a simple switch, it also takes the sum of both front speakers and creates the sub base output at a higher output voltage then input, built in preamp. I have an original bazooka tube from the early nineties, with some reinforcements to the tube and a proper crossover it has a great sound in the hatch. the new tubes are pretty much junk

Yeah, my 5x9 Xplod's were $150 a piece and the 5" Kickers were like $70 for the pair.

Frankly, if you've just destroyed your stock speakers, then I would go out and find ANY 4 name brand speakers within your budget. The difference from what you had will be so vast that nitpicking about all the possible speakers on an otherwise stock system seems a little futile to me.
