    Cam wear

How much do you need to worry about small scratches or grooves on the cam bearing surfaces?
And you will know me by the cloud of smoke.

not good, could cause low oil pressure, broke cam, oil consumption. depends on how bad it is grooved. You can try using it but keep an eye on it for a while to see potential issues. There was someone here that knew a place that would machine them down to use actual bearings.

I wouldn't worry so much about the oil pressure as it's metered by the "oil whistle" in the block. The oil supply to the head components is actually gravity fed, with the excess exiting through notches in the top of the cam/rocker caps 2 and 4.
