god DAMN that leather looks good.
Looks great! Glad to see someone putting that kind of love into an SEi. There's way too many going to the junkyard every day.
Even though it's used, it's still a Honda.
bad ass project!!!

Well time for a update after 2 years. Had it in storage and now its finally time to work on her since I now have a my little shop to work out of. First on the todo list is install a OEM flex pipe, more wet sanding and polishing and install and windshield. The direction I'm still taking is to keep her stock as possible.
Sweet SE-i, I also dig your Bel-Airs

After finding my first cassette I ever bought! and doing some high speed runs (165 km/h). I've decided start round 4 of detailing.

Congrats on finding "Forever Black." It was the best product of its type that I found after a lot of experimentation. Though, if you are already painting you will still get much better results with a product like Krylon Fusion on the raw black plastic.
Nice, another SEI!
Update overdue
Now its time . was sitting for too long and needs some lovin.
Polish begins
Im using 1500, 2000, and 3000 trizac DA pads with 3m extra cut, swirl mark remover and "ultrafina " to polish
Took two days and a dozen beer
Now heres where it got tricky, thank goodness I welded up the square holes that receive the rear bumper brackets. I remember it rusted to shit so i used urethane on the "hockey sticks" to the painted inner side panels. set overnight
Did some refinishing on the moldings, not 100% done since i have to deal with the rubber edges on them as not to get trim black all over

ummmm which one to use
As I stated before on the thread, I was going to purchace a new oem downpipe. Fuck dat i got a welder and grinder so a fabed one up. rememeber measure twice, cut once and make sure your on the same axis as the rest of the exhaust. I was off like a few degrees of rotation three times after I tacked.
The oem flex pipe is double walled compared to the one I got from the parts store. oh well ill see how it holds up down the road.
Installed will some of the oem heatshield. No leaks, yes one less thing checked off the list.
Now a bit of my stereo install, I had to do it due to the fact the oem Bose system and amp where CRAP!.
First order of business is with the circuit breaker. 100 amp hi-buss with 4 gauge wire. Im trying to work on the "big 3" here.
Cut an aluminium bracket that holds my 2150 usx amp that I had for 10 years
My other old school amp PPI 2120 that with power my Infinity 6x9s
Very old 1f cap i kept from a huge 1960s texas instruments computer. Got it from my neighbour when i was a kid. Still works
fitting the speakers in the baskets. The rear 6x9s where really a bitch, off by a few MM.
I first thought this was going to be a breeze to install, guess again.
amps hooked up, i spent lots of time with the routing of the wires and making sure there was no pinch points or bad grounds.
Headunit going in, was no breeze since the bose wiring is not standard ie the wires for fronts, rears, left, and right all different colors. i took out the multimeter for this.
OK headunit JVC KD-X50BT. I had no use for cds in the car no more since losing and scratching lots over the years
I think this is where I realised that the connector to the old honda headunit had some pins cut . So I had to run a wire to the steering wheel ring to the SWI-X control unit.
now she sits till next spring when I finally get her on the road.
