I pulled my axle to replace my cv boots and the hanes manual said not to reuse the spring clip.

The cv boots generally come with the spring clip. Look it up in the box where the cv boot came. NAPA may have them for sale
If it ain't broke... I fix it!
Actually i just looked at the picture from advance auto and it comes with them. oops
You can reuse them. Just stretch them out a little so they engage properly in the trans.
