High compression forged pistons, titanium rods, custom stroker crank fully balanced and knife edged, aluminum flywheel, custom aluminum pulleys, oversized valves, radiused valve seats, heavy port and flow job, adjustable cam gear, nasty cam grind, standalone ECU, individual throttle bodies, distributorless ignition, custom header with 2.25 inch mandrel bent exhaust

i think that's bout it. pretty easy.

What it comes down to is how much are you willing to spend on your 20+ year old car and how dedicated you are going to be on having this done on a 3rd Gen.
Alot of new people come here and have lots of plans for their Accord and give just up when they realize the funds needed and the lack of aftermarket support.
I wish you luck in your build and hope to see you stick with it

^^^ Pico makes a good point. But I am going to supplement his point:

What are you going to do to a Civic (or any generic import) to make it fast? Sure a Civic has tons of aftermarket support. But it's a market flooded with low-quality garbage, and all the good stuff is retarded expensive. What can you do to make a D16 fast? Bolt ons? CAI? Exhaust? You can do that to the Accord easily enough too. Once you dig into the actual motor, it's all the same for nearly any car really. I doubt you can build an NA D16 for much cheaper.

Well I'd keep the block stock just put in some nice new honda pistons preferably A20A4 ones with .3mm overbore, just have the whole assembly blueprinted properly either by yourself or by a engine shop but one thats trustworthy!! The parts have to be balanced perfectly and clearances exact and not left to factory fit!
Then spend the money you do have on the headwork and the exhaust and induction system you choose and do something about the ECU and Ignition with custom ECU.

You'll have a reliable setup thats got some go go to it and still be fuel efficient!

    Colt Cams
    Golden Eagle (con rods)
    JE (pistons)
    Bisimoto (valve springs)

There are others, but those are some of the best in the business. For head & block work, ask around for a reputable machine shop in your area. That stuff can be handled by anyone.

Your crank, honestly, should be fine for like 200whp. People build monstrous racing engines with stock Honda crankshafts. If you have a couple hundred left over and nothing to do with it, you could get that knife edged, but it isn't really necessary.
