    Transmission Advice

Alright, I've got hard shifting and what not in my transmission..

It has 231xxx miles on it..

What (minus replace), could/should I do?

I was told adding something may make it worse, any suggestions?

(And I just had my fluid checked and they told me it looked good)

    Re: Transmission Advice

when my auto started to do that , i added that motor up gear up stuff and it did improve shift quality somewhat, a 1000 miles later the trans blew up.
perfect excuse for a manual conversion

Just drive until it blows up. Then swap in a 5-speed and forget you ever had transmission problems.

    Re: Transmission Advice

according to the manufacturer you should be using engine oil, but according to every oil company, you should be using around 75w80 oil as they sort of suggest for every car of that age.

Honda does make a transmission fluid but that only came out once they released the s2000, but that might be a bit of overkill.

Theres heaps of treatments on the market, you should try some, they cant really put your box in much more worse condition than it is.

yes or use a synthetic additive to dexII
also over time as your car drifts out of tune... gradually the accuracy of the TV cable adjustment goes out thus affecting shift quality and points.
Try adjusting the TV cable just a tiny bit.

    Re: Transmission Advice

^^^needs a hair more, also make sure it is all lubricated good and the cable housing under the hood is not attached to the other cables, any movement could disrupt the tv lever slightly.
Also check it is pulled up good and lubed at the gas pedal.
