    Cleaning the engine bay?

Hey guys..My engine bay is incredibly dirty...but I just don't have all of the equipment at my house to remove everything to clean it out....is it possible to do some cleaning without taking everything out? If so, how? Thanks!

Any orange engine degreaser from WalMart or Autozone will work. Theres a certain kind in a spray bottle from autozone that seriously works fucking wonders. Cleaned my old CA's bay with minimal effort.

Just apply heavily everywhere with the bay dry, let it sit for about 5 minutes, pressure wash, repeat. Anything the pressure washer doesn't get you can scrub.

This how it looked after half assedly cleaning it a few months before the picture was taken. The underside of the hood was almost black and the orange stuff ate it all off.

If you car is stock, just cover up your coil, distributor, your black box if you feel the need to do so. You could always pull the negative battery terminal if you are worried.

Try and do this with the engine cold, or at least not full operating temp. Post pics!

I did mine with some home-made stuff. Took some citric acid (powder) and dish washing liquid and put it in a spray bottle and added water. No idea where it would place against "real" cleaners, but it worked.
