If you have the time and equipment (eprom burner, wideband 02 and a laptop) you can street tune and still do pretty good, esp with low boost

if you get a rom emulator such as an ostrich, you can tune the car while the engine is running, and if you datalog too, you can see exactly where and what you need to change right on your computer screen. Thats the ultimate.

    Re: Tdurr's Turbo Thread!

hey i plan on turbo ing my a20a1 accord hatch (manuel)
im converting it to pgm-fi from a 87 prelude (auto trans)
    i am going to run 8-10 psi on a t3/ t4 turbo
i am going to use a 4-2-1 headers (custom attachment to the manifold) if wanted i can show a pre drawn pic of it

450cc jdm injectors, safc apexi controller, 255 walbro fuel pump.

the kit im getting comes with gauges, intercooler, piping, fuel press reg, wastegate, bov, voltage regulator, fan, oil cooler, oil catch tank, and turbo.

getting a spec stage 3 clutch

my question is : am i missing any thing for my build???

and what kind of wiring problems am i going to run into converting to pgm-fi from that car??

    Re: Tdurr's Turbo Thread!

i have a question: now after i removed my stock air box on my lx-i i said to my self wow there is alot of room between the back of the engine and the fire wall. so why hasent anyone put a turbo back there? it seems like it would work, with well, less work.

sounds like a lot more work than the traditional off-the-manifold way

    doable

small turbo, bracket to hoold it up and some heat shielding for the wiring harness etc, and it should workk.

    Tim should try this.

I think it would work, with the exception of there not being enough room for intercooler pipes.
    un-motivated!
someone make me an offer i just could not say no to.

sounds like a pain. u have alot of wires and hardlines back there that i wouldnt wanna put that much extra heat too and along with the weird manifold and ic pipes.

dont forget, the stock downpipe will be restrictive for sure, as the stock exhaust manifold probably will too. I think building a manifold is really the way to go. Dont forget, you have the axles in the way too, so getting piping in or out of that area under the intake mani will be a bitch...

they will fit but i think they are saturated type injectors, you want peak hold type. Id just use some used DSM 450cc bluetops
