My 3gee is totaled

Well yesterday about 5:40 pm I got in a wreck and totaled my poor 3gee. It makes me sad because i loved that car. But anyways, here are some pictures of the car. If you look at the windshield, you can see where my head hit the window. .....The funny thing is, is that I got in a wreck with another Honda Accord and it was an 03! Enjoy....

dam dude dat hella suck, when i saw those pic's it reminded me of my old 86 camry, it was a nice ass car but i cried when i lost it cause it was my first car.

Mine was no where near as bad as that when I crashed it, but it was still upsetting. Atleast I totaled an SUV in the process.

Ive been working a lot lately. And I kinda stopped checking the forum after I crashed my 3gee last year(Had a lot going on at the time). But Im rebuilding it now since I have the money to do it.

Hey all. I appreciate the replys and concerns. I am fine, I had my hat on so my head didn't get cut up. I was able to walk away from the accident.

Basically what happened was I was coming up on an intersection, the intersection was on a curve, and there were like 15 cars trying to turn left going the direction I was going, as I came up to the light it started to change, bear in mind that it had just finished raining. Anyways I was like 10 feet from the line when the light turned yellow, it wasn't til I got next to the 2nd or 3rd car in line to turn left til I saw the other Honda's nose peaking out. At that point I pushed the breaks real hard and because these cars don't have abs, my wheels locked up and it was like I was sliding on ice, and well I hit the Honda totaling mine. The Honda I hit was coming from the opposite direction I was going and was turning left at the light in their direction.


Anyways that is the short version of the story. I'm ok, the car isn't. But its ok. And it is not a FAIL, shit happens, people get in wrecks and the cars get totaled and there's nothing that can be done about it.

But yea the car was in decent condition, and the motor ran like a champ, in fact the motor was the best thing bout that car. Anyway, thanks for all the replies and keep them coming. Everyone drive carefully. And wear your seat belts! I didn't have mine on!

why not pull the motor and sell it to someone on here? thats fixable,i've seen far worse,take everything off the car and get a BFH and get busy.

Be sure to take your own advice and buckle up from now on. We have no air bags, light little doors and 2800 lb cars. You don't get much protection there. The only thing you can do to help yourself is the seat belt. Glad you're ok.

so you are going to fix it? You can buy it back from the insurance company for peanuts honestly. Then once it's fixed, just bring it to the DMV for a full inspection and they'll re-title it for you.

As Tim said, that thing is definitely fixable. I'd fix it. Just hit up your local pick-'n-pull and get yourself a front clip and get to work. The shock tower looks like it didn't take much (if any) of the hit. New radius arm and front x-member should take care of the suspension aspect of it. Beyond that, radiators, a/c condenser and lines, p/s pump and lines, and maybe (maybe) the a/c compressor took a hit too. Is that rad pushed up against the engine?

c'mon man, seatbelts from now on. The 3G's themselves may be dying off the road more and more everyday, but we don't need our members going with them. Glad to hear you're ok though.

First off... thank you to all the replys and concerns from all. As for the car... I dont know whats going to happen with that. I just faxed the police report to the other drivers insurance company. So we shall see what is goin to happen I'm hoping by the end of this week. Anywho Ill let you all know something as soon as I do.
