and as for street cars, I think Dennis takes that trophy with a fully street legal, full interior hatch with a boosted A20. Wasn't he somewhere near 300hp at the wheels?

damn on the a20??? wow i didnt know it could be that powerful boosted i expected 230ish not 300 what kind of setup does he have?
Lets not forget wickedaccord with his bseries 400whp monster.
I was around the 300WHP mark on a JDM B20A but no dyno to back it up as of yet.
There are a few accords floating around with decent power! I can't remember if Justin Ballou ever dynoed his but i would guess he was in the 300whp range with his setup.
who has the best set up on the a20? im tired of ppl tellin me to sell the car or do an engine swap cuz the a20 sucks i know it does but i want to make mine bad ass

do some searching on the turbo setups. for those who tell you these suck, they are built a lot stronger then a lot of newer honda stuff. also no replacment for displacement, these were the biggest motors until the v6 came out. they used to be a popular swap into 1st and second gen civics. would make a hell of a fast car. I remember there was a company in Atlanta that used to make an entire swap kit to drop a FI a20 into an 81-83 civic, mounts, wiring harnesses, exaust components, entire deal. those were the good old days.

and one thing the 3g has is freakin flip up headlights!!!!!!!!!!! if u dont like em u shouldnt be near the 3g![]()
yes, 3Gee FTW. A20 is a strong powerplant, first of all its a steel block so it can handle some torque, and with decent high CR pistons and rods, and a great turbo hybrid T3/T4 compressor, you up in 300Hp range. Stand alone or OBD1 is best, but it all finish touches and you have a sleeper.

that is exactly why i gave my 91 civic to my parrents... fucking a everybody has done the same thing on it a million times so it then becomes boring..anything you do to it someone else will have already done it before multiple times.
and i wish i could find an a20a swap kit for my 81my a20a block is getting sad sitting in the shed

Why you want low compression pistons? with original CR 9.5:1 on A20a4 engine is 122Hp. on A20a3 is 8.5:1 CR and its 112Hp. with 11.5/12:1 CR you'll get maybe 135Hp from stock engine. and not least High CR pistons means Custom forged pistons..

that's the age-old question when you're talking about boosting. Many (ok, most) boosted setups use lower c/r because the tolerances are greater and there's less potential for the big bang when you spin the thing to 7.5K or more. The lower c/r pistons are offset by the power generated from the turbo. ...but yeah, higher c/r base with boost will net more raw power, and more power under boost, but you have to be more careful with your a/f ratio and how high you spin it, otherwise... ...well you know.
