we need to get some one to just make some bad ass wide and loud headers lol
Nah, I'm just going to cast a turbo manifold.
Although I suppose once I have the master and core built, I could cast out as many as were wanted.
B20A5 header much easier OBX one works quite nicely just need to make up new downpipe to the upper part or have the old one cut and rewelded to new angle, you do have to trim a bit of the cross member that runs front to back but may fit ok on 3rd gen this was on a 2G B20A lude. Works nice though has a 2.25" mandrel bent system fitted should see some nice figures from this engine once it's running Benny having some teething issues this week! lol!
Not a lot of information there.
I'm going to order a B20A5 exhaust manifold gasket to compare to the B20A JDM head. Also compare it to an H22.
Really wish I had some mechanical drawings of these things :(
Oh really! Wow, I just read thru it to at least 30 posts past 76 it covers every thing I did to make the Prelude header work. Oh well sorry that was no help to you.
No, no, don't get me wrong - GREAT info on specifically putting a B20A5 Prelude header onto a JDM B20 Accord engine!
Not much information as far as port sizing, bolt hole sizing / differences, etc.
Do you happen to have any photos of how the ports lined up?
No, they were pretty much right on it like the oem manifold was. I did have to clean up the header ports only because I was anal about welds in the port (brand issue) you can see where I rat tail file the end hole in one pic. Really wasn't much.
I recommend fabricating, basicly just extending the downpipe support bracket that bolts to the dp and up at the rear engine block. I havn't done mine yet but it needs one. Exhaust shop can do that part easy so i have my bracket cut in two so I can take it next time around.
fitting the upper manifold part is pretty easy the ports line up it's just a minor bit of filing the two most outer stud holes to get it to slide onto the head exhaust studs. The gasket is pretty much the same too. The tricky part is re welding the downpipe and possibly cutting away a tiny bit of the centre support frame to clear the flexi pipe. Depends on how straight you want to keep the downpipe going through the middle of the car. This was OBX header the upper part was inline with the block so made it pretty easy to get it to clear the front cross member on the 2g lude then the flange and downpipe were cut and rewelded to the correct angle to suit.

my header looks to be custom made for the b20a. looks ugly on the outsie but i can see the joins on the inside and they are tidy with no ugly welds in there :)!
but the motor was in a EF civic so i have no idea how well the bottom will line up to the exhaust (will depend on how the motor sat in the car)
