We have fast cars but we have less time. We have wide screen tvs but narrower minds.

When I lived in Dallas I would get about a half inch of hard ice on my car from freezing rain. At the time I had a Fiero, and its popups never faulted. Headlight motors have a lot of torque.

My theory: The 1986 Accord redesign was going on right as the US DOT was going through composite housing/bulb approval. I think it was approved in 85?? If you look at the competitors cars they're all carryover designs from before the change and their fixed headlights are huge and flat compared to the EDM accords'. Had they not gone with popups they would have had to redesign the whole front end to fit 4- 4x6 sealed-beams. Bye Bye aerodynamics&improved fuel economy, hello 2gee-looking-3gee. The popups allowed them to equal the aerodynamics of fixed headlights (so long as they were retracted) and still be on the safe side in case the approval didn't go through. And popups are way cooler.

I alwease broke off the ice from my headlights before poppin em.. and usually the ice off the whole car, lol.

Winter is such a pain. Craked my Left Rear tail light 'cause of ice! Bah. Cold + smackin ice off your plastic light dont mix.
