    Re: SAFC Wiring

What he means what is it used for..

Well it tricks your map to spit more fuel to w/e your set the S-AFC at. which for boosted apps Roach you would need to run more fuel so you would dail in a lower percent ratio on the afc thus tricking the map to spit more petro. has a hi and low setting so when your just at regular driving matters w/e you set on your low is what it well go to..on the other hand you got the high which is when you get WOT it shoots what you put. i have both hi/low the same...theres no need to get all fancy with doing all the other bs. Works great at first my car would shot out craps load of snoot and not run. its a cool little unit if you keep your obd0 setup...which i wouldnt..

Yet you can use the S-afc on your obd1 to fine tune inbetween the gaps that the chip burning couldnt get. works good either way as a piggy back or a kinda alike a standalone...

Makes sense? all it uses is your map for tuning.

    Re: SAFC Wiring

Thanks for the explanation Josh, yes I was reading on it and found out what it was used for.

I actually was wondering if anyone besides apexi made them, it seems not. Anyway thanks for the answers.
    Andrew.

    Re: SAFC Wiring

HAha i found my notes... here it goes pimping i wrote this reading and reading reading and reading before i boosted and i doted shit down...

    For 86 accord lxi

    Connector A

Brown/Black.....Ground 1 Cm from each other
    White/yellow.....RED (powa input

    Connector B

Red/Blue.....Blue(Oxy Sensor B) Air/fuel raio seen in voltage. usefull for tuning. can be seen on sensor check.

    Connector C

    White/Blue...Map Sensor
    Red/Yellow.....TPS

    SO pins are

    A16..ground
    A17 ..Powa

    C11..Map
    C7..Tps...

K now with some helpfull info i wrote also idk where i got it from but i have it here on my note pad and just typing.

    Things you need to know

    Safc setting
50% lo-hi throttle atmost all the way accross (to bout 4,500RPM)

Make sure SAFC is set at "PRESSURE" and set on 06in-06out Also make sure it is set at "/" in the car section

The common scale for injectoers are:
    5%-440cc-450cc
    4%-390cc
    3%-310cc

Then Subtract 1% per 500RPM incresement. This well give you the starting point. To play it safe run Rich/Stoich side, so we increase fuel flow by 1% per 1000Rpms. Try no to top out 5%........because your fule maps are increasing in pluse duration and percantage at teh sametime.

So base setting for 450cc are
    1 240/450 = 0.53
    2 0.53 - 1 = 0.46
    3 -0.46 + 100 = -46

So we have the difference of 46%. we add our 5% for injector compensation which leaves us with these setting.

    1000 - 40%
    1500 - 40%
    2000 - 29%
    3000 - 38%
    4000 - 37%
    5000 - 35%
    6000 - 34%
    ____________________________Accord^
    7000 - 34%
    8000 - 33%/34%

Cross over can be set -45 low and -30 for your high all this does is determen when the low an high setting kick in. if they are the same then it wouldnt matter where you have this crossover set at.

Throttle point at 10% and at 13% for fuel economy lol which i never tounched but BUT THATS ITs if you connect it like that my ran like a dream and gave me a base start and was boosting a health 8psi all day everyday for 8 mouths yo...

Hope i helped for those are struggling with this ummmm TDURR haaha

    Re: SAFC Wiring

The negative is for using 450cc injectors for boost. If you will be na all you have to do it get the settings right then leave it at zero. But really, go obd1.

I still need to setup the msd btm as well. Still need a few more parts too. Spark plugs are two steps colder than stock too IIRC

Spark plugs - ngk bpr7es. I remember that by heart because I fouled out so mmany lol.

And do obd1 first. It will get rid of the btm, and u can justbget it tuned from the rip. Obd1 on na makes a huge difference in its self.
