    SAFC Wiring

Well have one and now trying to figure out how to wire it up. I have an 86 lxi so only 1 02 sensor so im probably not gonna run the blue wire unless I need it here what I have in mind so far let me know if Im right so far.

    SAFC ----- ECU

Brown and Black ---- Brown/Black (1st Connector) Grounds 1cm apart
    Red ---- White/Yellow(1st Connector) Power
Yellow and White ---- White/blue (3rd Connector) Map
Gray ---- Red/Yellow (3rd Connector) (Should be TPS reading right?) TPS

Green ---- To Blue coil wire for rpms

Does that sound about right guys?

Ok guys help me. i dont want the safc on all the time and apparently the white and yellow is always on on the ecu, is there any switched power supply on the ecu? What I want is the safc to come on when the igntion is on acc or on and now when my car is off. Right now it stays on with key turned or out. HELP!!

Would it hurt to tie into the main relay input? This would be switched power right?

    Re: SAFC Wiring

there are little spade connections on the fuse box just above the fuses, there is a hot all the time, switched and parking light connections there.

i'd say just use one of those.

edit: there is a switched source at the ecu.

well from what i understand you need it on all the time if not shit wont run right. its inbetween the map right...So cutting the singal = FAIL car bogs and your on the side of the road like a FORD. dont take much power man...just leave it on....run everything at 0 since your stock and dont worry bout it....cant tune it anyway with stock injectors

Isn't it fun to get on buzzed? ha ha that's great yo! but what is a 4th buzz???

Rendon..... like a FORD ROFL that's the funniest shit i've heard for awhile I totally Agree

I was always curious about the safc i've seen it mentioned a lot but i'm not exactly sure what it does got a link? and i think you'd definetely want it switched so it's only on when the key's on somethin like the radio fuse (comes on when the key is turned past lock to acc, or on but may go off during cranking i'm not sure)

    Re: SAFC Wiring

okay so me and luke both are having a problem. our SAFC's rpms dont read right. They jump +/- 1000rpms and read like 2000rpm's high.

example, at idle(1000rpms) the safc read like 2000-3000rpms and jumps around in between them.

    wtf.

    Re: SAFC Wiring

hmm... we have the tach signal on the SAFC hooked directly to the coil and its reading, but not the right rpms. We had someone look at it who knows them and he said it seems like its getting a dirty signal. Everyone is sure there isnt a rpm signal going into the ECU?

    Re: SAFC Wiring

green wire then extended the wire to the engine bay and hooked it directly to the - terminal on the coil.
