Old thread, I know. Yes?
Problems:
- dent in quarter panel
- automatic (swap)
- it's not "Sport Edition"
He'll take $600.
You're joking, right?
special edition, fuel injected, sillies
I knew it was Special Edition, I was just mind-blown when I thought Joey thought it was "Sport Edition". It's definitely an SE-i, but it doesn't stand for 'sport', because they're nothing really sporty about the SE-i other than the exhaust. The spoiler doesn't count because the LX-i could get it, too.
I'm heading out now to take a look at it. I hope it's nice! I either get the SE-i, or this.
The SE-i was lame; I'm not going to get it. The guy totally duked me into driving all that way before telling me all of the problems it has. Some mechanic he is: he replaced the entire steering column because he broke the wiper-blinker control arm. The car ticked like a clock, barely started, and wouldn't idle below 2k. Piece of crap for what he told me it was worth. I'm not calling him back.
Oh, by the way; update!:

1989 Honda Accord SE-i sedan

No
Meh... someone asking $2500 is probably not going lower than $2000. I paid $2600 for mine, but it was worth it IMO. I know most people here don't think these cars are worth that much in actual dollars, but if you really want a 3Gee a 1989 SE-i is about as good as it gets.
Too many doors though.![]()

I've had this conversation with a couple people, some get it, some don't. There are car people, like a lot of us I imagine, who will fix and modify just about anything we can get our hands on. Then there are Honda people, who don't care all that much about cars in general but just want a Civic or Integra because it's what a lot of other people have and they know they can garner respect by doing what everyone else does. Sounds like that guy is one of the latter. Or maybe he was just being funny.
The totaled coupe just sold for $200, but 'parking' was $125 over five months, so I pretty much got $75 for it. The guy tried to get it for $150, but I told him I'd let the car sit for a few more months before I'd go that low, especially since I've gone down from $400.
I just found another loss: the guy can scrap the car for about $75-100.
