    B20 swap into 3gee

Hey everyone! I'll start of by saying I drive an 89 LX-i coupe.. stock A20A3 and I found a B20 in good condition at the local salvage yard for only $350.. and the tranny, another $350. both with about 125k on 'em.

    My questions being..

    1. - If I performed the swap, would I need to buy the tranny with it? or does the Accord tranny fit onto the B20 motor?

    2. - What would I need to modify in the engine bay to make it fit (take out AC? Don't use it anyway.), or is it just a matter of doing the work and mounting it?

    3. - Would I need to modify the Accord mounts? Or does the B20 bolt onto the Accord mounts?

Any other precautions? Do's / Dont's? What all needs changed? Anything would help greatly..

    Thanks!

The Soshi-Badge: Thought it was a cool color scheme. Dont wish I had an original JDM 3gee (what would I fill my time with?) Just to clear the air.

Yeah, that's a lude. The B20 you want will most likely only be available at an engine importer. If you're handy and can build mounts and make some frankenstein axles work, then you can go with a CRV B20. When I first started with my 3gee career, I wanted a CRVtec motor in my car. Now that I've grown up a bit, I'd rather keep the A20 and go with a low boost setup.

That engine is not going to fit. You've taken a picture of an Integra with a B18A1 engine... DOESNT FIT!

well after straining my neck vertbre to see what the heck that was, I quickley spotted the bolt on the T belt cover, wrong B20A. IF by chance you do find the correct one it is s bolt on affair, very little mods to do other than using prelude axle and intermediate shaft, along with some minor wiring changes, very minor.

the b20 that fits our cars wasn't sold in the USDM.. it's extremely unlikely one would find one a salvage yard in the US.

Well, this B18A1 fits but you'll need custom made mounts.

not likely but entirely possible, there were a lot of them imported here with auto tx etc. that could have been sold as replacement powerplants even for the non entheusisit.
