liike i said it pings on 87

then FIX it!! the carb cars are a little bit different then the FI cars, but with a Fi car like that, unless something is wrong it should run just fine on 87, put the timing where it's supposed to be for one thing.

then its slow as balls(still is now anyway)... its not hurting anything thats why some acuras and stuff have to run on 91... it has to do with werre the timing is at(an compression).. i have it set to were it burns 91 correctly lol
.. but yeah when i have all the other problems not exactly worried about that right now...
it has a full tank of 91 anyway... ill probaly retard the timing when its next time to get gas tho as the engine is not worth the exter money of premium lol

i'd say some of your problems with predetonation are directly effected by the others.

But we dont have 91 here in NH (for the most part)...we get the really racey 93 octane I had to do a double take when I stopped for gas in NJ and dint see 93...

yeah lol i was just saying acura for example.. i thought the 2nd gen legends needed it as well...

I'm sure the pre det could be caused with a bunch of things.. i just remember reading if u advanced your timing to far it would cause pre det on 87.. which is what happened lol...

on another note.. i forgot about until i got in it and started it lol on monday morning when we loaded up the car with the rest of our stuff and pulled out of that drive way for the last time the driveway fought back and ripped my muffler off LOL

thats one of the ones that was clamped on to the 3g and fell off (oem/junkyard1/fart can in sonora).. ive had 3 mufflers fall off the 3gee..1 civic with no muffler when bought... and this cars muffler fall off lol muflers love me

and nah it doesn't suck to bad about the muffler as i now love the sound of the car makes it feel sportier and funner

also i checked my coolant and oil today really closely and i didn't notice any mix of ether and it doesn't smoke and nothing comes out the exhaust so im confused on why its overheating when idling and sometimes smells like coolant... also the coolant level has not moved =/

looks good, you go through the hoses to see if the pre heater hoses are leaking on the manifold or down underneath to your header and burning up? also could be a heater core leak if you're constantly smelling it...

i'd go through the hoses first and see if it's leaking any out there, then i'd replace the thermo.

yeah i checked and no leaks... i wonder if its something else im smelling as it doesent use a drop of coolant =/ it smells "fruity" tho i wonder if theres some fruit roll ups stuck to my engine LOL

and yeah im thinking i should replace the thomostat then retourqe head (as it does leak some oil out the side) ... also someone told me the noise im hereing could be the exhuast sheld rattleing as someone else said they thought the same thing with there car so ima take that off and adjust my valves when i retourqe the head and see how that helps...

Went to the junkyard today to get the VSS they had 3... wont sale any of them tho becuase he said everytime someone pulls one they distroy the transmission :| .....
however i did get one of them radio holderinner thingys..


he also has a NEUSPEED strut bar and K&N SRI that he will sale for very very cheap ^_^.. (going back in a couple weeks to get that hopefully)
