    Crossroads.

I think I've been here before, but I don't remember the result.

I don't have much money or time, but I like making my cars better than the rest for cheap, as in my Sidekick.

I can either put all my effort in my system, building a semi-wall behind the rear seat for my 2 12" MD's, or I can do everything else to the rest of the Honda that makes it unique from the outside.

I used to make some side money off of people listening to my setup, then wanting me to do a system for them, but in the past year, I haven't really had a system and I haven't had a customer in over a month. Granted, it's usually a couple bucks and an energy drink (kinda my signature), I do it more for my experience.

If I went with everything else, I would probably sell my setup for a couple hundred, strip the interior, and probably do a lot of "tuned eye" mods (wire tuck, painted motor mounts) and motor mods, which would more than likely include a rebuilt teg tranny, good clutch, custom header, maybe even look into the propane turbo thing... I don't know. I like my bass, but I hear it's hard on your ears, but I know if I have power, I'm gonna use most of it as much as I can. (71 in a 45, passing in a no passing, and reckless driving, for those who remember)

I kinda want to see my Accord being faster than most tuner Civics and tegs.

I'd pay you for a wire tuck. And for you to get one of those tiny batteries. And for you to give me a respectable setup.

Just run your wires and build your enclosure in such a way that your subs and amp can be removed easily. I can unplug my box and lift it right out if I decide to go for a run in the mountains. I'm sure your setup is about a million times more involved and you know stuff I don't about how to install something correctly, but I don't see why you couldn't have the best of both.

    Re: Crossroads.

i'd say ditch the audio involvement. there's nothing wrong with a perfectly good single 10 or single 12" setup. i don't even mind a small 8" tube.

if you want to be faster than most civics get that teg trans, an intake, a header, full 2.25 exhaust and a good muffler. DONE. they key word to your statement was MOST civics, the accord is already in stock trim pretty close to being faster than MOST civics. but the gearing on that integra trans helps a ton!

    indeed^^
I noticed that 1st and second are a pull gears, they dont give any speed at all, 3rd is in between, it accelerate but not that much, but when you come to the 4th, the engine has problem to get up in momentum speed to pull hard, but there are just not anough power to accelerate hard..

I need that TEG 1-4 gears so bad

Its prttey fnuny how you can raed tihs eintre snetnece with all tehse ellters out of palce...

    Re: Crossroads.

I'd go for anything [notsupersuper] loud. The only worries I have with getting a system are all of the rattles in my car. If my car makes as much noise as it does just driving, I can't imagine having a sound system. Just something a tad louder than all of my friends, while saving as much weight as possible. I might make the LX-i a wire-tucked, interior-stripped, lowered beast, and have an SE-i sedan daily driver.

Regarding the mention of the Integra gears. You would use the stock Accord 5th, correct? Would a DX/LX 5th gear be longer than an LX-i/SE-i? I think I've read than the carburated models have longer gear ratios.

    Re: Crossroads.

yeah i know how you do it, my point was he made no mention of that.

so my point was doing mods like wire tucking and other "jdm" stuff is pointless if you're not doing anything else or know what you're doing.

i will be the first to say a wire tuck looks clean, but when you have an electrical problem from doing it with crimps, electrical tape, and no loom, you're gonna have tons of fun huh?

That's why you [get someone else to] do it right the first time. I'm not trying to rice (JDM, as you say?) the crap out of my car: I just like a clean look. The only JDM parts I'm looking for are the corners and mirrors, and everyone else would take them if they found them. By the way: how the hell is wire-tucking JDM? As far as I know, Japanese cars have oblivious wiring, too.

    Re: Crossroads.

I want to wire tuck and put in some side-markers at the same time. I think those look sweet! But that don't make it go faster! lol

I do a lot of wiring around here and I do it right, so that wouldn't be a big thing.

Anyone want to buy my bass system?? lol

I would, if I had the money. Next paycheck? Haha. How much of the trunk does it take up?

    Re: Crossroads.

I just have the ten inch bazooka, one of the original ones, not the new ones, ripped out the built in amp, run it off of a vintage Sony, and it works great. I have a good passive crossover network to adjust the sub to the car. one thing i did was make a heavy rear plate for the tube out of plywood, then upholster it and it's screwed onto the tube with about 20 screws this takes a bunch of resonance out of the tube,as it's weak point is the rear panel.

    Re: Crossroads.

I had to cut the center beam out and about 1/2" off the rear deck to get it in the rear (DX with non-foldable rear seat). It takes up pretty much the whole trunk, but you can put stuff around the box.

    Re: Crossroads.

Another thing with this car is how little it weighed to begin with. It's a DX with no power anything, no sun-roof, it doesn't even have a passenger side mirror! It's like it was made to race! lol I bet right now with my setup in it, it weighs about as much as a stock LX without AC.

    Re: Crossroads.

I have an LX-i with the folding/easily removable rear seat, but I need that and the trunk space.

By the way, does the DX have power steering [stock]?

Mine did. It's really hard to steer this thing without it, and I used to steer 31" tires with welded front and rear diffs and I think it's almost as bad when you aren't moving! lol

Haha, my car feels like you're steering a cruise liner. Is your DX an OEM color?

I think it was Silver to begin with, but I kinda like the color now. I'd like to re-paint it something different.

it's not jdm it's just all the jdm ricers do it for some reason...

i wouldn't need anyone else to do a wire tuck for me i could do it right the first time, my point is it's just a useless mod really. i'd focus more on paying for good parts if you're gonna pay someone to do it.

Haha, don't worry, I never meant to make it sound like I thought you can't. I meant that I can't. I just love the look of a clean, wire-free engine bay. Like, I'm getting a DX mirror cap to streamline the right side as much as possible. Stupid, but that's just my taste.
