    Please help with good sources

I have a 1988 Honda Accord DX (2dr hatchback, my favorite) So Heres the deal, I work on cars in my spare time and decided to pick this one up (cheap) to see what kind of power I can pull out of it.

    Linned up:
    No problem finding
    Weber Carb
    Headers/Performance exhaust system
    Camshaft Grind/Performance replacement

    Major Problem finding
Performance Head Replacements (lightened valves, stiff springs, lightened rockers)
Over sized (forged/crafted, whatever you wanna call it) pistons-engine will be bored
    Performance Crank
    Stroker Connecting Rods
    ................................

Its a long shot but I'm going for 180+ HP(a20a1) in a Vehicle I'm lightning to about 1700/1900 pounds

vehicle must remain natually aspirated, no turbos/supers other then that let me in on any sugestions and I will gladly listen

Let's see if I can help out some.

Springs are available through Bisimoto at http://bisimoto.net/store/index.php?...roducts_id=446

Pistons will be special order. JE Pistons seems to be a favorite around here.
    http://www.jepistons.com/

As for rods, B18A/B Rods actually work in our cars! The only problem that you will have with this is that the wrist pin is 21mm as compared to our 20mm wrist pins. You will have to have custom pistons made, which won't be a problem since you're already ordering custom pistons.

Our crank is already a forged unit, so don't bother with upgrading.

180 HP is doable. You're not going to do it with that carb, though. Get a DCOE45 setup and contact a user here going by rjudgey. He's the a20 DCOE king.

Something else that you will need to do is port your head. If you know what you're doing, you can do a mild cleanup and probably get the power you want, but if you really want to go all out, Bisimoto can help with this service as well.

Just an FYI, all of this information has been gleaned from other threads here at 3geez using the search tool. Unlike other forums, we have a lot of information that you can find by searching.

Of course, if there's anything else you need, feel free to ask, after all, that's why we're here.

Thanks alot for the sources, I decided to lower my goal a bit based on the Carb kit that I got for really cheap (38/38 weber) and want to top out at 170 HP. I think I have all the Info I need to get up to that NA. Love the site you guys are awsome. (will get pics sometime and share all modifications I finish with)

You can do with the 38/38, but you're still pretty limited.

    https://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69917

THAT is what you need. That manifold and a set of matched carbs from http://www.redlineweber.com/ and you'll be set. Better power than the 38/38. You need to remember that the carbed engine came out of the factory with 98HP.

Where do you live? I could only hope you're close to me so I could help you with your build.

Re: Please help with good sources

I live all the way out in California . I'm changing my plans because I picked up the 38/38 kit for $100 because of a miss order through my parts store (long story) and they needed to dispose of it. So yes I am restricted to a lower power range, but will still make all the modifications to the block/head ons I can for now, and upgrade the intake at a later date. The cost of custom crafted oversized pistons is almost going to break me so once I get more money set aside I can throw more into it. Atleast with the new rods/pistons/ and head work I can be sure it will have no problem handling the 38/38 lol

Yeah, a $100 38/38 is a reason to run one.
