Mounting a stereo/EQ

Hi all! I've been a 3rd gen. accord owner for less than a week now and I'm so glad I found this site! I've spent the last few hours reading through all the threads (don't tell my boss)!!

Anyway, I was wondering how everyone has their stereo and equalizer mounted in their cars. I've got the stereo part figured out, but the ashtray is right underneath it leaving no room for my eq. I've looked around for a universal mounting kit, but could only find them for '90 on up model accords. Any ideas? Thanks!

if ur car is a five speed, you can mount it on the angled part of the console below the deck. thats the only place i can think of right now. hope that gives you some ideas.

You need to hit a junkyard or e-bay and find a center console which you can modify to mount an equalizer. The console will replace the shifter console you currently have with a unit that runs all the way up to the bottom of the ashtray, with space for the equalizer.

You wouldn't happen to know any particular makes/models to look for that would have the center console I need would you?

The center consoles will most commonly be found in the LX-i coupes and LX-i sedans.

I put my Alpine EQ in the lower part of my console. I put it behind the door so no one even knows it is there.

Yea it's the cup holder console. The upper drawer is the cupholder and the lower one was susposed to be a place to put 4 cassettes. but now it is an EQ holder!
