    I meant the 86-87 grille.

My hatch has a black grille while the sedans have a chrome one.

I dont like the pre facelafy bumpers. I cant get past how cheap the markers look with 2 screws in them. It would be like face nailing a hardwood floor. Just ugly. Ive always like the clear markers from the 88-89 and you cant see any mounting holes. Im not sure on the grill. i wasnt aware there is a difference other then the design of the brows, grill corners and side markers. I thought all the grills had a chrome strip?

88-89 has chrome across the top , 8687 has chrome all around... which looks more classy imo

I'm more of a facelift guy. Stripes > Dots any day!

I would like a pre-facelift grille with facelift grille corners though. Or just paint the corners.

We need some really close, intense pictures comparing the two front ends.

I do like the look of the black grill (or, is mine black, too? ). I might pick one up at a junkyard at see what I think with it on. I don't like chrome all that much (chrome wheels are a maximum for me, as long as they're not huge).

Why aren't they both black if they're both '86-87? Was one painted? I want the black one in the pictures up a bit further, but with '88-89 eyelids and the little corners on the grill, as well as JDM corners...

if you have the chrome grill scuff it with red scotchbrite and use the duplicolor trim paint on it, it gives the semi flat look of the oem black.

x2 i read the difference but can't quite put it together in my head, i tried googling pics of both but i either get pics from 3geez (which are most likely modified) or crappy pics from other places, the only difference i saw was the turn signals

    Pre-facelift:

    Facelift:

The upper half of the pre-facelift has a recess that matches the grille, and the lower half appears to have a steeper angle. And the eyelids are a slightly different pattern. You can't see it on geej's 88, but the black trim that goes all the way around 87roach's grille changed to a single chrome strip that covers the top edge of the facelifted grille.

Point of clarification though: That white hatch does have pre-facelift bumper, grille, and eyelids, but has facelift (ie. 88-89) corners.

Ah, yeah. Good eye, I didn't even think to check.

One on the left is a clear shot of 86/7 corners.

the 86-87 corners and eyelids resemble carbon fiber, the 88-89 have horizontal lines running through them.

Nice job on the pic response guys ^_^ i see the difference and am definitely liking the face lift (but am not too crazy about the stock signals, i would clear them ) i might have to consider picking up some more front end parts for my car now.... *drives to local junkyard*
